As a secondary math teacher, I have dedicated my life to improving education in the U.S. and have had the blessing of learning about different cultures from my students over the past 20 years. I don't teach math because I love math--I teach math to see the joy on the face of a young girl at the realization that something they had been told they would never understand finally makes sense. This is the same joy girls all over the world should have the privilege to experience. I am on a journey of global education and empowering women in the area of mathematics--and in life. I challenge each of you to experience this journey with me. Every girl matters, every girl can learn, and every girl has a purpose. I encourage you to discover your place in the world right along side of me as I seek to do the same.
