The Experiment Digital
The Experiment Digital is a fully-funded two-month virtual summer program that helps high school-aged youth become more civically engaged by empowering them to plan and execute a community service project. Designed to connect students across the globe without leaving their living room, participants interact through videos, discussion forums, online chats, webinars, and playing games together. Through these activities, participants develop leadership and cross-cultural communications skills, speak with peers from different countries, and design youth-led projects to create positive social change. The exchanges take place online, so students can participate from anywhere. We encourage students with diverse backgrounds to apply!
|
By participating in The Experiment Digital, students receive a Certificate of Completion in leadership and global issues analysis, access to the U.S. Department of State’s International Exchange Alumni network, unique project funding opportunities from the U.S. Department of State, and a $400 scholarship towards participation in one of The Experiment’s programs around the world.

Camp Blaze and Women & Fire Camps for Girls

The first Fire Service Mini Camp was hosted by San Diego Fire and Life Safety in July of 1999. The team leaders worked together to form the organization "BLAZE: Firecamp for Young Women" to provide an annual, free camp - Camp Blaze - where young women could experience what a career in the fire service might be like. In 2003, the Board of Directors made a decision to offer Camp Blaze as a biennial event. In addition to Camp Blaze, the organization now offers Women & Fire training events in the off-year from Camp Blaze. Women & Fire offers a day of hands-on drills and instruction for women in the fire service as well as a day of professional development related to the goals of Camp Blaze. Both events are hosted in the Pacific Northwest.
